Socialisation and early training of puppies is an essential part of them growing up to be well-balanced adult dogs. At Tower Wood we offer a 3 week programme of parties for pups between 9 and 16 weeks of age that help puppies and owners get it right from the start.
The emphasis is on learning and above all fun for the puppies. Best of all, they learn that a trip to the vets is not always a bad thing!
We offer to our clients who have their puppies or kittens initial vaccinations done with us the opportunity to attend on a weekly basis to see one of our qualified nurses. This can be particularly beneficial for puppies that were unable to attend the puppy parties.
Our youth club is a service run by our qualified nursing team, which gives you the chance to stay in touch during the early growth stages of your young dog or cat. This is the time when many questions arise regarding such issues as when to neuter, how to adapt the feeding routines, when to worm, what about teething and so on. All these things and many more can be discussed with the nurse at the Youth Club Clinic. This also provides the young adult with another non-threatening visit to the vets.
Obesity in pets is a major factor in chronic diseases such as arthritis, heart disease, and liver disease and simply in your not enjoying life to the full. It is very easy to fall into the trap of food being the centre of an animals life, and very difficult to break the habits and change the lifestyle.
The Weight Watchers Club is a none intimidating, no blame nurse run clinic which gives you the help, support and follow up to get your pet back into shape and back enjoying its life to the full.
As your pet reaches late middle age it is a time when changes can start happening in the body which if not checked could lead to illness. We offer a full check up by the nurses who will then refer you to a veterinary surgeon if any concerns arise. At this time a routine blood screen and a urine test can be performed to check the functioning of the internal organs. Our whole emphasis is on prevention and trying to give your pet a healthy and happy old age.
We all lead such busy lives that are very easy to forget how quickly time has passed. To help you remember important times for your pet, we send out a series of reminders for services such as the annual health check or dental check-ups. These can be done by either mail, SMS text message or email.
As well as for the regular clubs and clinics our nurses are on hand to give you any help and advice that you need. For routine care where you do not feel that a full veterinary consultation is needed (e.g. nail clipping, suture removal, tick removal, general advice), make an appointment with one of nurses or call in and ask for advice.
